Merriang is committed to the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework (SWPBS). This is a whole school approach to decreasing behaviours of concern and increasing student success. At Merriang we recognise the importance of positive interactions and language for the purpose of improving school climate and safety. Merriang promotes effective social and purposeful learning by creating a safe and positive school environment. Through predictable and consistent school wide behavioural learning expectations we will empower, engage and support all members. |

Merriang has received an award for achieving Bronze level of acknowledgement for implementing the essential features of tier 1 School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) with fidelity in 2022.
SWPBS implementation can take between three to five years and it is wonderful to see the ongoing commitment our school has made to creating a more positive and effective learning environment. |
